Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 828cm
Posted on Tuesday 20th February 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Light snow was falling for much of yesterday, with clearer skies by evening. Some more snow falling overnight and early this morning but not a huge amount of fresh on the ground... here's what ski resorts are reporting:
Ishiuchi Maruyama: 10cm
Kagura: 5cm
Maiko Snow Resort: 5cm
And I have measured an additional 4cm since yesterday.
Like yesterday, we can expect light snow falling at times today with just cloudy skies at other times. During the day temperatures will probably stay fairly close to 0 degrees in town or slightly higher. And a similar kind of picture for tomorrow - possibly a bit colder.
