Good morning everyone, and welcome back to the Yuzawa Now reports on SnowJapan.
That old cliché is true - time just seems to goes so fast. I'm sure it's speeding up. It doesn't seem that long ago since we were all sweating out a ridiculously hot summer and checking out the Fuji Rock Festival up at Naeba.
Happily that heat is well behind us now and it has been getting gradually colder. Much colder. Over the last week or so it seems to have suddenly become considerably colder - over the last few days temperatures have been struggling to rise much into double digits during the daytime. Heaters are now being used!
The autumn leaves are looking pretty spectacular at the moment and when the sun shines it is a truly beautiful sight to see. (See photo taken on Sunday 28th October below).
And if that is not enough... check out the images from Kagura below - natural snow has been spotted high up!
Exciting times.
The Kagura resort this season plans to open on Friday 23rd November, so we are now just over three weeks away.
Details and opening dates from other ski resorts around the area are still being gathered and we will post more details in a report over the coming weeks.
