Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 607cm
Posted on Wednesday 19th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Snow on and off for most of the day yesterday along with some blowy winds making it feel colder than it actually was. There was one point around lunchtime when a bit of blue sky appeared but it was soon covered up by the next clouds moving in.
Just around 5cm to report this morning with resorts reporting up to 10cm (Kagura) early on.
It is still snowing at the moment but in the last half hour or so visibility has improved a bit and the forecast is mostly for cloudy conditions today so I wouldn't expect much snow today.
After being at least part closed the last few days, Kagura is fully open this morning - so there should be some great powder to track up there this morning.
Currently -3C in Yuzawa.
Cloud or clear conditions probably tomorrow.
