UPDATE
Important update... TODAY (Friday 17th April) is going to be the last day of the season.
Kagura have adjusted their plans again and now will not be open tomorrow and Sunday as mentioned in the report this morning.
So that's it. Another hour or so and the ski season is officially over.
We will post a final report tomorrow.

ORIGINAL EARLY MORNING REPORT
Good morning from Yuzawa.
Yesterday Kagura announced that Sunday 19th April will be the last day of the season. The reason is, of course, coronavirus and the now extended government emergency declaration. There has been a lot of discussion and opinion locally (and beyond). An appropriate decision? Too late? Why Sunday and not immediately? etc, but I won't get into all of that.
The decision has been made and that means that - bar any further announcements, of course - the ski season in Yuzawa officially ends at the end of Sunday.
Today should be fine and sunny and there is a chance of rain at times over the weekend.
I will post again tomorrow and then wrap things up on Sunday.
