Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this seas 490cm

Posted on Wednesday 15th January 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

We got some lovely blue skies and sunshine again yesterday morning, with cloud starting to take over the skies in the afternoon and then some snow falling at higher elevations.

It was another day of mild daytime temperatures, up to around +5C in town at lunchtime. A few comments on the snowfall/mild/weather conditions in an upcoming report.

We got a bit wetter down in town late night but this morning it is snowing. Not much more than a dusting really up until now but hopefully we will be getting snowed on throughout the day.

This morning both Maiko Snow Resort and Kagura report 10cm of snowfall on their upper slopes. Head high for the fresh!

Looks like there might be a chance of some more sun tomorrow, but back to snow tomorrow night and into Friday.
