Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this seas 651cm

Posted on Thursday 14th March 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

A few cm of snow since the morning report yesterday as snow continued on and off. And there might be some more freshly groomed snow out there to enjoy this morning.

This morning there's some cloud around, particularly north of Yuzawa, but lots of blue sky and it feels like it is going to be a good morning. More sun is forecast for tomorrow... and Saturday, possibly Sunday, too. It is going to be getting warmer too over the next several days, with temps perhaps approaching/reaching double digits at times (most likely tomorrow - a high of around 7C is forecast for today).

There is more snow shown on weekly forecasts for next week, so we might be getting some more fresh.

The report has to be a bit too early for some ski areas updates this morning, but all will probably be open as scheduled.
