Posted on Sunday 14th December 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Yuzawa.
This morning we have cloud but we also have some blue sky and the sun shining through at times.
However, we are expecting some rain during the day today.
Hopefully, that might have changed to snow by tomorrow - certainly on the mountains.
Yesterday was the first day of the ski season at Naeba, Kandatsu Snow Resort and Joetsu Kokusai ski areas.
And from today you can also ski at Yuzawa Kogen.
Please check details on (planned) available lifts operations below.
It looks like only the lower lift at Naeba is open early on this morning due to windy conditions at higher elevations. No specific news about restrictions at Kagura as of 8:30am.
With many ski areas planning to open next weekend, unfortunately the forecasts don't really show us getting much snow before then (beyond tomorrow).
