Measuring 18cm of fresh snowfall since the report yesterday and this is what ski areas are reporting this morning (especially the Kagura one):
Kagura: 5cm
Ishiuchi Maruyama: 20cm
Maiko Snow Resort: 10cm
Perhaps the snow clouds didn't extend down south enough for Kagura to get their snow. It does indeed look like areas to the north of Yuzawa (in Minamiuonuma and Uonuma) got more snowfall this time round, and feels like we didn't get as much as we were told to expect.
[Update: 35cm measured at a point between Ishiuchi and Joetsu Kokusai to the north of Yuzawa].
It is -2C and has been only snowing lightly in the region early morning, but we are still told to expect heavy(ier) snow later on and tomorrow over Yuzawa. Let's hope they are right.
Anyway, it is calmer this morning and ski areas all seem to be back open again. Quite bright as of 8am and even some small bits of blue sky to see at times, though they surely will not last.
The Southern Area of GALA Yuzawa is not open this morning, perhaps temporarily close as they deal with snow.
