Independent snow and weather reporting from the Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 32cm
Snowfall at base this seas 638cm

Posted on Sunday 10th March 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Yuzawa Now report can be found here.

The exciting flashback to mid-winter conditions continues.

At our measuring point, since the report yesterday morning (including a clearing yesterday evening), there has been a total of 32cm. That is one of the biggest falls in a day of the season... and it is still snowing.

Here's how much new snowfall the ski areas are reporting this morning:

Maiko Snow Resort: 25cm (since last night)

Yuzawa Kogen: 20-30cm

(I would be great to know how much there is up at Kagura...)

OK so, yes, it is still snowing at 8:30am, though it will probably ease off sometime during the day. (Forecasts vary on the timing).

Tomorrow is forecast to be sunny in the morning and so it should be an excellent Monday morning!
