Good morning from Shiga Kogen. And what a fine morning it is, too.
The snow clouds have faded away and while it is generally cloudy still, there is some moody sunlight shining through (though that may be temporary). We might get more of that into tomorrow, but more snow is
Yakebitaiyama is reporting 20cm of snowfall since yesterday. I'm guessing there's going to be more than that in places.
Conditions are really good and I would guess that the ski areas that plan to open at the weekend will be able to do so. There will surely be quite a few more lifts and runs open come Saturday.
All this almost erases the memories of this time last year and the really late start some places had. (Check the archives to re-live it...)
