New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 862cm

Posted on Sunday 8th April 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

I couldn't wait... so a report this morning!

FRESH SNOW!

Yes, things are looking mid-winter once again this morning. Official reports of 5-10cm from around places and I can vouch for 6cm of that myself. And as we approach 9am the sun is out though light snow still falls - and everything is looking beautiful and clean white once again.

Lovely.

It's not deep of course but certainly the slopes should be enjoying a nice refresh too and worth checking out. There seems to be a chance of light snow on and off into tomorrow too.

I'm off out to enjoy it.

The section of Route 292 between Shiga Kogen and Kusatsu is still closed with a planned re-opening at 10am on Friday 20th April.
