I'm pleased to be able to report the first real decent snowfall of the season here in Shiga Kogen. It was raining until last night but we can soon forget that as there is now up to 10cm on the ground in places now and with snow still coming down now and - fingers crossed - for the rest of today and into tomorrow.
There's clearer weather on the forecast beyond tomorrow so this isn't a prolonged storm by the looks.
However if there's enough deposited today, we can expect more lifts to be operating come tomorrow. As things stand it's still just a small part of Kumanoyu open.
I'll do my best to bring you any and all news in my report tomorrow morning.

The Kumanoyu area has its Number 2 pair lifts operating and the 600m Number 2 beginner course open.
