We almost avoided rain up here in Shiga Kogen - but not quite. Rain earlier on turned into sleet and is now snowing. A fairly wet and heavy kind of snow, but it's much better than rain so we'll take it. With the forecasts telling us to expect temperatures to drop and the chance of heavy snow overnight tonight, I am hoping that in my report tomorrow I might be able to talk of a decent amount of fresh snowfall on the ground.
Fairly regular snowfall seems to be lined up on the forecast through the week as well with a return to much colder conditions.
