Early on this morning we were still in snowy mode, and there's 10-20cm or so fresh to report (wind has blown it around) but as I write this report close to 11am the sun is out here in the Maruike part of Shiga Kogen. The clouds have lifted, visibility is much better. Light snow still lazily falling from the skies, though I think that will soon be finishing up.


Forecast for the coming week is a mix of clearer skies and the odd snow shower but nothing major with a distinctly mild end to the week on the cards. That's a number of days away though so may well change.


In the meantime, some very good snow conditions to enjoy.


It may be a weekend but it doesn't generally seem over busy out on the lifts.


There are some off movements in the official snow depth numbers below of late. I think some resorts forget to adjust a few days and then suddenly take a big jump. Or perhaps it's the wind. But they are all increasing so that's the most important thing! All is good.
