New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 126cm

A snowy morning in Shiga Kogen.

For you Shibutoge fans, that top bit of Yokoteyama is now open.

What's more, get this, Starbucks has opened at the top of Yokoteyama. Yes, that Starbucks. Coffee. I kid you not. The highest Starbucks in Japan, as you might expect! So you can now have a Starbucks at the top of Shiga Kogen. How about that. I haven't been yet myself but of course the views from up there are fantastic so hopefully they'll have some prime seat locations looking out.

Probably won't see much out of the windows today though with the snow coming down at the moment. Not the best of visibility around the areas this morning. But we could well do with the snow as it's still fairly thin on the ground really and so... bring it on, I say.
