Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 388cm

Posted on Wednesday 26th February 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Hello.

Well, this morning it feels a bit more winter-like - I even have some fresh snow to report which is a nice surprise. It came last night. Kumanoyu are even reporting 10cm early on. I measured 6cm. The snow is a bit on the heavy and wet side, but heavy snow is certainly better than rain.

Visibility is very limited at the start of the day.

We're due more snow from later today into tomorrow - it'll be getting colder too (it's on the mild side this morning).

All areas and connections at Shiga Kogen are now open (with just a few minor exceptions).
