More good news this morning, the snow is coming down and the winds are blowing - it feels like a good old winter storm. Very cold as well with Yakebitaiyama winning the coldest place competition reporting a temperature of -14C. Here in Maruike it is more like -9C at the moment.


The wind has been affecting a few exposed lifts around the area but Shibutoge apart all areas do seem to be (at least mostly) open.


Some people may not like being out on the slopes in these conditions, but they are needed and lets hope we get more snow during the day. The local forecast tells us to expect this cold snowy front to ease today and then tomorrow and Friday expect clearer skies over Shiga Kogen.
