Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 308cm

Posted on Friday 24th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

After the snow of yesterday it was cold last night but temperatures are quickly rising here as the sun is out early on and shining down on us.

We're going to get to see the tarmac on the roads today I think as it warms up. Of course, warming up here means temperatures probably hovering around zero and possibly getting into low positive numbers. So that's cold for some!

But it's a beautiful morning here as in many regions. Blue skies and sun. Remember your camera.

Perhaps more sun tomorrow but more cloud forecast. Keeping mild but a chance of snow going into Sunday.
