Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 106cm

Posted on Tuesday 24th December 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

When I woke up this morning it was just cloudy with no new snow to report, but it started to snow and is coming down moderately heavy at the moment in the Maruike part of Shiga Kogen. At least a few cm since then on the tops of cars. There's a bit of a wind as well at the moment - calmer earlier - but lift operations don't seem to be affected right now.

A fine day of clearer weather is forecast for tomorrow, followed by snow as we approach the weekend.
