Happy New Year from Shiga Kogen.
It has been a cloudy start to the day here, but with the sun peeking through gaps in the clouds at times and in some places.
We're expecting calm and relatively mild conditions today and tomorrow before a return to fresh snowfall from later on Tuesday and the forecast showing a few days of snow beyond that.
So hope you can enjoy this first day of the year. Expect tomorrow to also be busy before starting to quieten down from Tuesday.
