Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 10cm

Good morning from Shiga Kogen.
We have had some fresh snow overnight. As always, the amount varies depending on where you are, but I have measured 5cm at my main measuring point near Ichinose Family, observing about the same around Hasuike.
The Yokoteyama ski area is still open today with one ski lift and the Number 4 course available. (Bafflingly, though no entirely surprisingly, the 'lift operation' page on the official Shiga Kogen website is not reflecting this. According to that, all lifts at Yokoteyama are closed).
I believe the ski area still plans to be closed from tomorrow through Wednesday, with a proper official opening due from Thursday 23rd.
I don't have any news from Kumanoyu yet. They will be open just as soon as they feel they can.
Looking at various forecasts, clear and sunny skies and mild conditions seem likely on Tuesday-Wednesday, with the next cold front moving in by the weekend.
