Brrrrr, it's has been a cold early morning here in Shiga Kogen.
It has been snowing lightly in places at times too, but it's also quite bright. Varied weather so far.
Not a whole lot of fresh snow since yesterday, which is perhaps a bit of a surprise.
A quick scan of all the available info seems to indicate that ski areas are opening as they have been this morning, but with no new additions. More than a few cm of snow is needed to kick-start most places to open up. Beyond today, the next chance for that looks like it'll be Friday. It shouldn't be warming up much before then, which is a good thing.
I hear there was some congestion on the way down from Shiga Kogen yesterday evening, due to a stuck vehicle. It was taking a long time for people to get back down to the valley.
