New snowfall at base 8cm
Snowfall at base this season 45cm
Posted on Wednesday 16th December 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.
Morning from a cold morning here in Shiga Kogen.
The snow clouds have remained over the region but again our numbers aren't as large as you might expect looking at some other places nearby.
Kumanoyu are reporting 5cm and Yakebitaiyama are again reporting 20cm.
I can add a measured 8cm to the report.
It's light and dry and perhaps one reason why you'll find more in some places than others. The wind easily picks it up and dictates where it goes! We are expecting more today and potentially heavier snowfall tonight.
The Ichinose Diamond area is now open and they have their quad lift operating; Yakebitaiyama now have a second lift operating.
We might get a break in the snow and even some sunshine around Friday but more snow is due over the weekend.
