New snowfall at base 70cm (!)

The official website this morning is claiming a full 85cm of fresh snow this morning.
It's certainly a lot but after going out and doing some measuring and taking into considering the wind which is really blowing about, I'm going with 70cm (*updated). That might well be under-reporting and conservative.
I can't remember ever posting such a big number in any of my reports here - and I've been doing them for a fair few years.
Locals are talking about a "once in a few years" snow storm. It's definitely a snow storm with the snow really coming down hard and strong winds blowing about.
Honestly I'm not sure many people would want to be out on the slopes in these conditions but even if you did, it's limited with the wind stopping quite a lot of lifts this morning.
Those 'snow monkeys' have a good plan... onsen!
Snow is forecast to continue through today and tomorrow and still be snowing come Tuesday morning.
