Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 30cm
Snowfall at base this season 452cm

Posted on Saturday 15th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Heavy snow this morning in Shiga Kogen. I was planning in being back there this morning but traffic issues prevent me from getting back so this is from a friend on the phone who just said it was really stormy conditions up there (as it has been down in lower areas as well) and there's a good layer of new snow.... along with some lifts being affected by the conditions.

Snow may ease off by Sunday and I will definitely be back up there to see what it's like for myself.
