Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 110cm

Posted on Thursday 15th December 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

The forecast said we might have a break in the snowfall this morning before snow coming back tonight.

It was right about the break in the snow clouds as we currently have quite a lot of blue skies and sunshine over Shiga Kogen. It is a lovely morning but very cold early on as well.

But we'd like more snow and so hopefully the part of the forecast of it coming back tonight will also be correct.

There's not a whole lot of promise for snowfall forecast over the weekend and early in the week so it looks like we'll have to make do with what we get tonight and tomorrow for a while.
