Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 8cm
Snowfall at base this season 107cm

Posted on Wednesday 14th December 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Last night we had some horrid rain falling for a while but happily this morning we wake to snowfall - around 10cm of it on the ground in places - with snow still falling and thick fog in places.

Snow is forecast for the day today with perhaps a break in it tomorrow before more as we go into Friday. Hopefully enough to help more of the area open.

Yakebitaiyama are preparing to have their Number 2 Gondola operating this morning and they now have the Panorama Course open as well as the courses that were open until now.

Let's see what I can get to report to you in my next report!
