Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 204cm
Posted on Friday 10th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.
Lots of fresh snow in the last 24 hours in the region.
Actually, as of 10:30am writing this report, visibility at the moment has improved and is quite good. The snowfall seems to be easing off. There is even a bit of sunlight shining through here in Maruike and blue skies opening up. But at the same time it is snowing lightly.... perhaps it is going to turn into a fine day.
It should keep very cold though.
We have this every year but resorts around Shiga Kogen always seem reluctant to add to their snow depth numbers below and the increases never seem to reflect the amount of snow that has fallen. The same applies this morning!
