It's difficult to put a number on things this morning but my best attempt measuring in a few places is.... 45cm of fresh snowfall.
Whatever the numbers, basically we have had a heavy load of snow delivered to Shiga Kogen since yesterday and it's still falling now. This is the kind of deep snow that really livens things up and is of course extremely welcome to see. Yey! And suddenly (or perhaps not so suddenly, but glaringly) the official snow depths at a few places at least seem rather under-reported.
Anyway, fine times.
Lets hope we can avoid the nasty looking rain that most places are due for on Saturday - and maybe even up here as well. It wouldn't be fair to get all this lovely snowfall and then get rained on.
Tomorrow the sun will probably be out which should make it an excellent choice of day to be skiing or snowboarding.
