Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 35cm
Snowfall at base this season 203cm
Posted on Saturday 3rd January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
This morning feels very Nozawa-like.
The ski area itself is reporting 40cm of fresh snowfall at Hikage and Nagasaka base area.
I have measured 35cm at my usual spot.
Lots of snow everywhere this morning, how we love it.
Limited visibility as the snow continues but I don't think we'll hear anyone complaining. Just take care out there.
We might have get a morning of sunshine tomorrow but it is currently due to be followed by more snow on Monday.
A bit more and hopefully the rest of the runs will get to open...
