Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 168cm

Posted on Friday 2nd January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Nozawa.

We have had more snow since yesterday. The ski area has reported up to 21cm higher up on the mountain since yesterday.

Again, it's perhaps less than we hoped for (or should I say at least less than we were expecting) and with the forecasts continuing to predict snow across the next several days.

This morning starts with cloudy conditions.

Time to go out and enjoy the snow.
