Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 230cm

Posted on Saturday 30th January 2016 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Morning form Nozawa and there's a good 20cm of fresh on mountain this morning.

In fact the resort is reporting 25cm on the lower Nagasaka area with 20cm up top. Both sound good to me and it's great to see that Nozawa-like kind of number*.

It was still snowing a bit earlier but has stopped now (perhaps still snowing higher up where visibility seems limited) and that is basically what the forecast and cloud maps have been showing.

The forecast also shows some more snowfall due tonight and maybe through tomorrow as well.

For the moment though weekend visitors should be happy with the new snow to play in.

(* We want more, more, more!!)
