Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 741cm

Posted on Thursday 29th January 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Hello from Nozawa. It's a cold morning and just cloudy conditions at the moment. Some forecasts say we'll see some of the sun today and I reckon they may be right.

There is about 10cm of fresh being reported by the resort since yesterday morning across mountain, including what fell during the daytime and the slight dusting that we got overnight as well.

OK so what about this Nozawa-rashii snowfall that we are looking forward to. Looks like it's still due to be with us from later on in the day sometime tomorrow and once it starts it should be snowing through until around Tuesday. Heavily at times.

That sounds good to me.

Keep it in mind if you are planning to be here for the weekend.
