Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 80cm

Posted on Monday 20th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Up to 25cm of fresh snowfall reported by the ski area since yesterday.

More courses are being opened including Schneider. With gradual snowfall across the coming week, hopefully we'll gradually be approaching a full open in the near future. As you can see on the webcam photo below, Naski is looking very green and happy this morning. Always good to see Naski.

There's a lot of cloud around this morning as the early morning snow eases off, but it might well be gradually clearing up as the day goes on. And sun is forecast for tomorrow; and milder too. Further fresh snow is due around Wednesday and then at the weekend.
