Snowfall at base this season 733cm
Posted on Friday 17th April 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Nozawa.
The sun is out and it's a fine (and kind of hazy) spring morning across the region.
The Paradise course is planned to be available for the weekend, but it seems like it might not make it, or be very limited. The ski area is apparently trying to keep it open but making a point about the quickly retreating snow, so keep this in mind. Whether it opens at the weekend or not, that run will not be open beyond the weekend.
The top Yamabiko area still remains pretty good in terms of cover, though only 55cm as the official snow depth.
Fine and warm weather expected over the weekend, though tomorrow might feature more cloud than Sunday.
