Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 733cm

Posted on Saturday 14th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

I have just come back from my morning walk. There's a light covering of snow on my car this morning, just about enough to add another 1cm today. Roads are clear. I'm too early for any report from the ski area itself, but perhaps they might have received several cm up top? (Just a guess).

So we have quite a lot of blue sky up there this morning and a fair share of cloud, too. Forecasts still show a mix of largely cloudy skies (and the chance of light precipitation at times) both today and tomorrow.

After this recent period of colder temps we should get some warmer conditions in the coming week.
