Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 732cm

Posted on Friday 13th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Nozawa.

This morning we have a dusting of snow around base areas, just about enough that I can add 1cm to this report. The ski area is saying there is 3-4cm up top.

It is very pleasing that temps have kept pretty low in recent days. I wonder how long that will last. Looks like things might be getting a bit warmer next week, but hopefully not too much.

Weekend weather is probably going to be mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow or clearer skies at times. Bit vague, ne! ;)
