Good morning from Nozawa and I'm happy to report that snow is falling from top to bottom.
It's admittedly rather wet, but it's forecast to remain cold during the day today with more snow possible - especially higher up. Onegai shimasu.
Tomorrow once the clouds clear a bit we might get some sunshine but hopefully it won't warm up too much.
Warmer conditions seem unavoidable starting Wednesday...
It's White Day today (like a second Valentines Day, for men to give chocolate back to the ladies. A tradition going back thousands of years; or maybe not). There may be some free chocolate fondue on offer around the Hikage Information Center mid-morning so I hear!
Official snow depths:
Yamabiko: 145cm
Uenotaira: 80cm
Hikage: 45cm
Nagasaka: 30cm
Karasawa: 10cm
New snowfall as reported by the resort since yesterday:
Yamabiko: 2cm
Uenotaira: 2cm
Hikage: 1cm
Nagasaka: 1cm
Karasawa: 1cm
