New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 34cm
Posted on Saturday 14th December 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
More of Nozawa Onsen is open this morning.
The Uenotaira quad and the Skyline connecting lift are both operating this morning, with the Uenotaira course area now open - over 10km of course open to slide down now.
OK back to yesterday. The winds calmed down yesterday and at around 1pm the Gondola started moving again. This morning 10cm of snow is reported on the Yamabiko and Uenotaira slopes - perhaps not as much as we were hoping for and expecting looking at the forecast last night - and this morning it has just been cloudy but the resort is updating it's info with light snow falling on those open slopes as of 10am. Fingers crossed that will continue and we'll get new cm to report again.
-8C up top and about -2C at the moment in the village, so a cold morning.
The forecast is for snowfall today (on and off) and tomorrow. The weather is proving to be a bit difficult to read right at the moment though.
Anyway for now good snow conditions on upper slopes of Nozawa and quite a lot of people around this morning to get out and enjoy it.

Uenotaira - 55cm
