All feels quite calm this morning.


There's not much wind, just a light northerly. There's some new snow, though just a bit. And it is snowing lightly early on. Visibility seems fairly decent at the moment, just a bit on the grey side and brighter in places. Forecasts do point to somewhat clearer skies later in the day and maybe some sun too.

Oh one thing. Someone mentioned that I kind of didn't mention the November snowfall in my recap yesterday. That is a fair point. Later on today I will edit my post from yesterday to include that, just for the record.

Niseko Avalanche Report


Mountain Base: -7℃, calm, trace new snow. Moiwa 800m: -9℃, light SE winds, light snowfall. Annupuri 1150m: -9℃, W5m/s, light snowfall. Hirafu Ridge: -11℃, light wind and snow. Coastal Data: Benkei cape: WNW 5m/s. Kamui Cape NNW5m/s, 1024hPa, 0.8m waves.


No special information. All peak gates are expected to open except Anbetsu Gate 10. Please follow the patrols instructions and prepare before exiting the gates. Overconfidence in your knowledge and experience causes accidents. Follow Niseko Rules.
