Good morning everyone.
And... I bring you good news. A decent amount of fresh snowfall. And ski lifts starting (or about to start) their season.
Today is the first day of the official ski season here in Niseko, with Niseko Village opening this morning. They are planning on having the Community Chair and Banzai Chair operating, so it's lower mountain action on offer.
Tomorrow will see the other Niseko United mountains opening up.
Niseko Grand Hirafu tomorrow plan to have their Ace Number 2 Center Four lift (for riding up and down) and Ace Number 3 pair lifts moving; with the Center Course opening up.
Niseko Annupuri tomorrow plan to have their Jumbo Number 1 quad and Dream Number 1 quad lifts operating from tomorrow morning, the former starting up at 8:30am.
Hurray!
Right now the snow is still falling and we are forecast snow on and off through the day. There is a chance of slightly milder conditions over the weekend, with temperatures venturing into low positive numbers, perhaps even the chance of some sun. Shouldn't warm up too much though. And then a return to snowfall early week.
