Hurray! New snow.

Booo! Strong winds.

Perhaps not as much snow as we were hoping for, around 5cm here at Naeba base and both Naeba and Kagura reporting 10cm of fresh snow on the slopes.

You're not going to be able to access all the top goodness though as strong winds are playing about with the lifts this morning. The only part of Kagura open is from the Mitsumata Ropeway to Kagura Gondola - at the moment.... the resort is hoping to open up the Kagura No1 par and the No1 quad as well, but for now that's not the case. Tashiro is closed.

Looks like Naeba is less affected and the No2 Gondola will be operating as planned, perhaps slower depending on those winds. The Dragondola is of course closed with Tashiro not being open today. Top lift - will depend on conditions.

It's a cold morning and snowing now so let's hope for a good new layer of snow. Should be good tomorrow, especially if Kagura doesn't open and it's all fresh untouched for the weekend. Snow might continue into tomorrow but the wind should certainly ease off so the lifts should all be moving.
