Posted on Tuesday 5th February 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.
A few cm of fresh snow here in Naeba (up to 5 on the mountain) and 5-10cm being reported by Kagura this morning.
Colder than it was yesterday and it's -3 degrees here at base and light snow is falling at the moment. Lower slopes decent visibility but the top half of Naeba is shrouded in cloud.
There's a strong wind higher up as well and it's affecting the resorts. Here at Naeba the Number 2 Gondola and the Dragondola are not (going to be moving) this morning unless the wind calms down and the Tashiro part of Kagura is closed for the day. The Mitsumata Ropeway is open and that area is open from the Mitsumata area to the Kaguran Number 1 quad lift. The resort will later decide whether or not to open the top Number 5 lift at Kagura.
The forecast has snow easing off later but hopefully back tomorrow.

Official resort snow depth:
Naeba - 260cm
Kagura - 370cm
The top lift at Kagura is now open (though might not be operating today due to wind).
