New snowfall at base 59cm
Snowfall at base this season 327cm
Posted on Wednesday 27th December 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.
Good morning! It's very snowy in Naeba this morning. The clouds rolled in around lunch time yesterday, and the snow began to fall as the sun set. Last night, we had received 10cm, but overnight was where the real magic happened with another 49cm accumulating. Visibility is currently very poor and the snow is still pounding down! The pistes will be deep and fresh, and as we have a good base across the mountain now it should be a fun day to get after it. It's time to dig out the fatter skis.
The forecast looking forwards is for "Storm Claudia" proper to stick around for another 24 hours, however, snow fall will continue until Thursday morning but easing off significantly from currently accumulation rates. "Claudia" has brought some strong winds with her, which will continue throughout today resulting in a couple of lifts remaining on stand by. From Friday onwards the weather is looking to settle somewhat with dryer conditions moving forwards, but despite this we may not see the sun for a number of days yet. It looks like winter has struck and is here to stay!
Deep!
