As I munch on my Christmas cake and fried chicken - it is today we are supposed to eat it, isn't it? - I see snow, and lots of it. Yes, we have signed off on the delivery of fresh snowfall and while it's perhaps 15cm here in Naeba (10-20cm according to the resort), Kagura are reporting a load of 50cm of new snowfall on the upper slopes up there. It's going to be a deep Christmas by the sounds of things there at least.

Colder too. -7C here at base, -12C at the top of Naeba early on this morning. It is still snowing as I said but not much of a wind so relatively calm. It sounds like there might be more of a wind at Kagura.

Snow is forecast for the day and so it would be great if it continued and we could add to the haul.

Once the Christmas trees come down tonight (that's what happens here), tomorrow we might start off with some sun but hopefully a return to more snow by the end of the day.

Ho ho ho!

Official resort snow depth:

Naeba - 100cm

Kagura - 250cm
