Snow bonanza!

Kagura is proudly reporting 40-50cm of fresh white fluffy stuff this morning. Hurray!

But as perhaps expected, the strong winds that we are experiencing this morning are affecting resort operations. Tashiro Ropeway is closed and Kagura is only open from the Mitsumata Ropeway to the Kagura Number 1 Romance lift.

Here in Naeba we have around 30cm of snow, and the top lifts and Gondolas here are also on hold due to wind.

Booo!

It can't be helped of course, and while there will certainly be disappointed people today, it just means that the goodies will be on offer to the people who turn up tomorrow. Tomorrow should be calmer and we might even get some sun if the clouds clear up soon enough.

Don't worry about the official snow depths not changing much (or at all in the case of Kagura). The new snow is most definitely here, honest!

Very cold too this morning, one of the coldest this season I reckon. Brrrr...

Official resort snow depth:

Naeba - 230cm

Kagura - 380cm
