Independent snow and weather reporting from the Naeba region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 55cm
Snowfall at base this season 358cm
Posted on Saturday 14th January 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.
There is snow everywhere! As of 6AM this morning we had 20cm of fresh snow on the ground and this has built up to over 55cm as of 10AM! That is a severe amount of snow an it has no signs of abating just yet!
Conditions are super powdery and I predict that it should be possible to find good powder on the mountain most if not all of the day.
Caution is advised as it is absolutely storming out there. It will be pretty hard to see where you are going most of the time.
Right now the weather forecast is predicting heavy snow until Tuesday at which point we should get a brief respite before more snow again on Thursday.
Strap on the biggest plank of wood you can find and go shred!
NICE!
