Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 1078cm

Colder with a bit of snow! Looks very nice to have things clean and white again, a little snow sliding off the roofs, sort of white branches (we take what we get at this point in the season!).
The snowfall looks like it was heavier higher up, because some of the resorts are showing increased snowpack (again, always nice here as the season winds down).
I appreciate Lotte Arai’s reports noting potential closings if the wind picks up, which my favorite wind-themed website says is likely today. We’re getting the classic wind-from-Vladivostok-over-the-sea that means snowfall, even if it probably won’t be a whole lot more.
But, as I have often written this year, who really knows?
