Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 504cm

Posted on Saturday 8th February 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

After a day of sun, and a little light crust formation on areas exposed to the sun, the snow is on again.

While there hasn't been much, it looks like there could be a lot. Anyone for another meter added to the base?

Of course a lot of new snow will mean a higher risk of avalanches offpiste, and in Myoko that often means sluffs ending up in steep valleys (so be careful where you ride, and where you could end up!).
