Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 1348cm
Posted on Sunday 7th March 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
It did snow, starting from the afternoon, but it was little tiny flakes that didn't amount to much. Collective sigh, please. So it's dust on crust, as it is coldish still, enough to make the snow surface hard and not enough fresh snow to make it soft.
That freezing level (the line where it's 0°C) is heading up the mountain during the coming days, so spring is returning.
